Clove has wonderful antiseptic, anesthetic, antibacterial and analgesic properties, making it perfect for toothache treatment. Eugenol which is the active ingredient in most dental medications is naturally found in cloves. So why not use this much cheaper and natural alternative instead or resorting to medicines. Simply hold 2-3 cloves inside your mouth, preferably near the aching tooth for few minutes. They will release their oil and numb the pain in a small time.

Peppermint is a very useful and strong aromatic herb and has been used for treating toothaches for centuries. It has excellent anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anesthetic properties due to which it can provide effective relief from wisdom tooth pain. To use this remedy, dip a cotton ball in peppermint oil and rub it around the painful area to get quick relief. But make sure not to ingest this oil. Alternatively, you can prepare a tea by steeping 1 teaspoon of peppermint leaves in a cup of water for 20 minutes and then swish this solution around the mouth once it has cooled down. Now throw the water away and repeat till you use up all the tea.
