Wrap ice in a towel and apply on the face like a compress. Repeat this at regular intervals in a day. Avoid using the ice directly on the skin. Alternatively, apply towel dipped in iced water on the face as a compress.

2. Wash The Face Twice A Day And Use A Gentle Cleanser:

Wrong method of washing the skin can cause redness and irritation in the skin. Wash the face twice daily with the help of lukewarm water. Use a cleanser meant for sensitive skin type. Choose a cleanser that does not have fragrance or drying ingredients like alcohol. Sulphate and benzoyl peroxide containing cleansers are the best for you. Make the skin dry with a towel. Avoid scrubbing the face.

3. Use Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is very effective for fighting face redness. It contains high amounts of acid, which fights skin infections by killing germs. The vinegar helps in fighting irritation, inflammation, redness and itching. Dilute the apple cider vinegar by adding water to it in equal amounts. Dip cotton in this diluted solution and apply on the face. The diluted vinegar can be used like a natural toner. For this remedy, always use raw and unprocessed apple cider vinegar.

4. Use Oatmeal Face Mask:

Use an oatmeal face mask to reduce redness on the face. For this, grind oatmeal to make a powder from it. Mix the oatmeal powder with a very little amount of water and apply on the face. Wait for ten minutes and then wash the face, use the mask on the neck also. Do this remedy thrice a week.

5. Use Chamomile Tea:

Chamomile helps in fighting redness of face and flushing of the skin caused by rosacea, dryness, inflammation and irritation in the skin. Prepare chamomile tea by steeping tea bags of chamomile tea in boiling water for ten minutes. Wait for some time and place the tea in your refrigerator for half an hour to make it cool. Soak a towel or cloth in the chilled chamomile tea, squeeze and apply on the face. Remove the towel after fifteen minutes. Do this 4 times daily.

6. Use Aloe Vera:

Apply aloe vera gel on the face for fighting redness, pain and inflammation in the skin. Cut open an aloe leaf and take out the gel or pulp inside. Apply the aloe gel on the face two times daily. Instead of this, you can use a readymade aloe gel bought from the market.

7. Use Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and it can reduce redness on the face caused by skin infections like acne, eczema and rosacea. Always use the oil after diluting it with some other ingredient. Do not use it on the skin directly. For redness on the face, mix tea tree oil with aloe vera and apply it on the face.

Honey is an effective remedy for reducing redness on the face caused by fungal skin infections. For this, you should mix honey with beeswax and moisturizer. To this, add very little olive oil. Apply the mixture on the face. Massage the skin for minimum 5 minutes. Wash the skin after 20 minutes using lukewarm water. Dry the skin and apply a moisturizer. Repeat the remedy twice a week.


9. Use Coconut, Olive And Almond Oils:

Using coconut, olive and almond oils help in reducing redness on the face. The oil moisturizes the skin due to emollient properties. Apply any of these oils on the face before sleeping at night to reduce redness. However, avoid using coconut oil if there is acne on the face.

10. Use Witch Hazel:

Witch hazel can be used for dealing with redness on the face caused by sunburn and skin infections. It has astringent properties and it is a useful remedy for itching and skin inflammation. Apply witch hazel on the face. If there is acne on the face, mix the Witch hazel with a very little amount of tea tree oil. Use only a few drops of the oil for a single use. Do this twice daily.
