Procedure

Pour 8 ounces of water in a pot and bring the water to a boil. When the water starts to boil, add ½-cup of fresh or ¼-cup of dried herb. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Remove the pot from the burner and strain the tea. Add a tablespoon of honey to the tea. Honey, apart from sweetening the Echinacea tea, boosts the healing property of the herbal tea.

Ginger helps in activating the immune system. Its antimicrobial activity helps in destroying germs that cause cold and flu. Lemon contains vitamin C, which is essential for the healthy functioning of the immune system. Combining Echinacea with ginger and lemon helps in boosting the immune system.

Procedure

Put a teaspoon of dried Echinacea roots, flowers and leaves in a pot. Add a teaspoon of grated ginger. Pour two cups of boiling water over the herbs and cover the pot. Steep the tea for 15 minutes. Strain the herbal tea and add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. You can sweeten the tea with a teaspoon of honey.

Although Echinacea tea is considered safe when taken according to direction, do not take Echinacea tea continuously for more than 10 days. People who are allergic to plants of the daisy family should avoid Echinacea tea. As Echinacea tea is a powerful immune booster, it is not recommended for people on immunosuppressant drugs.
