Our feet are the most neglected part of our body. We would splurge bomb for facials and spa therapies but we never think of to get a regular pedicure done to keep them healthy and soft. Some of you might be exception those who love to indulge into monthly pedicure sessions. But this post is for those women who do not get time to go to salons to get pedicure done or do not want to spend much for feet. Here we would share four easy recipes of foot scrubs which you can prepare at home at your convenient to get soft and smooth feet. Generally salons use store bought foot scrubs for exfoliation purpose. But here you can prepare your own foot scrub by using easily available natural ingredients. You can get a results similar to a regular pedicure with just a 10 minutes of foot soak followed by the foot scrub.
1. Sugar Foot Scrub:
This is one of the very common scrub recipes. Sugar is known as natural exfoliator. It contain glycolic acid which helps to exfoliate the dead skin cells effectively and promote smooth skin. To prepare this foot scrub you would need one cup of a regular sugar and half a cup of olive oil. Mix both the ingredients well and make a thick paste. Soak your feet in warm water with salt for at least 10 minutes and scrub it with this scrub for sometime. Rinse off with cold water and follow up with a foot cream or moisturizer. The olive oil helps to nourish the dry skin and patches and keep it softer. You can follow this remedy once in a week.
2. Strawberry And Salt Oil Foot Scrub:
Strawberries contain high amount of Alpha Hydroxyl acid in the form of Citric acid. It helps to remove the dead skin cells and keep it smooth.Due to vitamin c content it also helps to lighten the skin and remove the tan with regular usage. Almond oil helps to nourish the skin. Salt is known as a natural exfoliator which helps to exfoliate the dead skin . To prepare this scrub you would need few strawberries , two tablespoons of salt and two tablespoons of Almond oil. Mix all the ingredients well to form a thick paste. Use this paste as a scrub to exfoliate the feet after soaking. Scrub for at least 10 minutes . Wash off afterwards with cold water.
3. Sugar And Coffee Foot Scrub:
Coffee helps to improve the blood circulation during scrubbing and tones the skin. It also helps to lighten the skin and make it firm. Sugar helps to exfoliate the dead skin cells effectively. To prepare this scrub you would need Half a cup of white sugar, one tablespoon of Coffee powder and one cup of olive oil. Mix all the ingredients well and make a thick paste. Soak you feet for 10 minutes and use this paste to scrub your feet in a circular motion for 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water.
4. Sugar And Ginger Foot Scrub:
This scrub works effectively for flaky skin and cracked heels. Sugar helps to remove the dead skin while ginger oil , almond oil and orange oil help to moisturize it. To prepare this scrub you would need half a cup of sugar, half a cup of almond oil, one teaspoon of pepper powder, few drops of orange essential oil and ginger essential oil. Mix all the ingredients well and make a paste. Use this paste to scrub your feet after soaking it for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
