The Mudra of Knowledge is also known as Gyan Mudra. You can exercise this mudra in the time of your meditation. Although it is always better to do these mudra poses in the early morning. To perform this mudra, you have to hold your tip of the index finger with the tip of the thumb. You may keep straight or slightly bent to rest of the three fingers. This mudra increases the concentration and the memory. This Gyan mudra is helpful for controlling your mental and psychological problems, like, anger, anxiety, stress and depression.
Mudra Of Wind
This mudra can be practised in a sitting, standing or lying position. You can practise this mudra according to your convenience no matter you are in empty stomach or in full. Fold your index finger. You can see two bones on your index finger those are called phalanx bones. You have to press the second phalanx bone of the index finger with the tip of your thumb. Keep your other fingers straight. When you accomplish the benefits then stop practising it. This mudra can bring you imbalance in your system.
According to its name this mudra controls the wind in your body. It discharges excess wind from your stomach and body. Therefore it reduces the chest and rheumatic pain.
Mudra Of Fire
Fold your ring finger and press the second phalanx bone of the ring finger with the base of your thumb. Keep other fingers straight. This mudra should be practised in the sitting position early in the morning with empty stomach. Practise his mudra as long as 15 minutes at a stretch. In acidity or in indigestion, just avoid this. It helps to burn extra fat, improves the body strength and maintains high cholesterol level.
Mudra Of Earth
Hold the tip of the ring finger with the thumb’s tip. Keep other fingers straight. It is better to practise it in the early morning. Sit in a padmasana and keep your palms on your knees with straight elbows. Practice this mudra whenever you feel distressed. It improves the blood circulation. It increases patience, concentration and reduces weakness. It is very effective to strengthen your bones.
Mudra Of Water
This mudra is effective for your skin and the whole body. Hold the tip of your little finger with your thumb’s tip. Keep straight other fingers. You can practise this mudra any time anywhere according to your preference. For best results sit in a cross legged position and do this mudra. Never press near the nails of the little finger. It will make you dehydrate. This mudra balances the water in your body. It activates the fluid circulation in the body. It cures skin problems like dryness, infections. It prevents pimples and adds some natural glow to your skin.
