Ways To Use Rice Water For Hair And Skin:
1. Hair Rinse:
Rice water is an amazing deep conditioner that helps repair hair damages and split ends and at the same time makes the hair smooth, silky and strong. After washing the hair using your regular shampoo, rinse the hair using rice water. Massage the scalp using your fingers and leave the rice water on your hair for 5 to 8 minutes. Finally, cleanse the hair using cool, plain water. Use this rinse once a week for better results. You can also add a few drops of lavender or rosemary oil to the rinse for added nourishment and aroma.
The natural saponins found in rice water are what that gives it the property of a mild hair cleanser or shampoo. Mix rice water with natural cleansers such as a little lime juice or acacia concinna powder or even Indian gooseberry juice and use it for washing your hair regularly instead of the store-bought ones. Yes, rice water is an excellent and effective solution for sun burns. Simply, soak cotton ball in rice water and rub it all along the affected skin. Apply it generously, twice or thrice and take a cool shower after 20 minutes. This will remove all tan and leave the skin soft, even toned and refreshed.
Rice water is a natural astringent that helps tighten pores and restore the pH of the skin. Dilute one cup rice water with one cup plain water and use this solution for cleaning your skin every day. Combine rice water, turmeric powder, gram flour and a few drops of lemon juice to make a flowy paste. Smear the paste all though your body and massage gently. Cleanse your face and use rice water as a final rinse. Soak a cotton pad in green tea and gently pat on the skin. Do this every day or at least 2 – 3 times a week. Both green tea and rice water contain good amount of vitamin C, which helps in synthesising collagen. Besides the peptide present in the rice water will make your skin firm and the catechin content in the green tea will reduce pigmentation.
