Ok so you think you are pregnant. And you can’t wait to break the news to everyone in the house. But how do you make sure you are really pregnant before making the announcement? Simple, just opt for these natural methods to confirm a pregnancy at home itself. And we are not talking about the home pregnancy test kit here.
One of the simplest and most effective ways of confirming your pregnancy involves a little bit of the toothpaste you use to brush your teeth every day. Take a clean container and collect your urine in it first thing in the morning. Keep the container aside. If after a short while, the toothpaste changes blue in color or turns frothy, you are pregnant.
A concentrated soap solution would probably be all you need to confirm your pregnancy. Collect your urine in a small container first thing in the morning. Add it to concentrated soap solution (you can use any soap for the test). If the solution begins to bubble, chances are high you may be pregnant.
Simple and effective, the bleach test can also help you confirm a pregnancy. Collect the first sample of urine in the morning in a container. Add a teaspoon of bleaching powder to it. If you are pregnant, the urine will react with the bleaching powder and start foaming and fizzing.
Pregnancy usually causes a change in the hormonal levels in the body. Dandelion leaves usually identify and react with these changed hormonal levels, thereby indicating a pregnancy successfully. You would need fresh dandelion leaves for this test. Spread these leaves on paper and place them on the floor, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. Urinate on these leaves in the morning. If you see reddish blisters appearing on the leaves within 10 minutes or so, you may be pregnant. If you are averse to urinating on the leaves, you can collect your urine in a bowl and soak the leaves in them. The same reaction would more or less confirm your pregnancy.
This is another way you can naturally test your pregnancy at home. Pine sol is commonly found in many cleansing agents. You can also avail it in markets and general provision stores. All you need to do is collect your urine in a container in the morning. Wait for about 5 minutes and add a few drops of pine sol solution to the container. Wait for another 10 minutes or so. If you see the solution changing color (even a slight change in base color would do) after this period, your pregnancy is more or less confirmed. If the solution is still clear after this period, you are not pregnant.
Vinegar and Tuna
This method of testing your pregnancy at home involves using a solution made up of ¼ cup of vinegar and ¼ cup of tuna juice. The solution needs to be kept overnight. Collect the first sample of your urine in the morning and pour it into the tuna-vinegar solution. If you are pregnant, the solution would turn bright green. However, if it turns yellow or orange, you are not pregnant.
Sometimes, all it would take is some mustard powder to confirm whether you are pregnant or your menstrual cycles simply missed their mark for other reasons. Soak in a bathtub filled with hot water and 2 cups of mustard powder for about 20 minutes or so. Take a shower in warm water afterwards. Mustard would flare up body heat. So if you are not pregnant, you would definitely get your periods within the next couple of days (4-5 days). If you don’t get your periods, then you can confirm that you are pregnant.
