Try these effective Yoga poses that aim at your abdominal and back muscles to help you to lose love handles real fast.
Effective Yoga Exercises To Lose Love Handles
1. Wide Legged Forward Bend – Prasaritta Padottanasana
Keep your feet almost four feet apart, with toes slightly bending inward. Keep the outer areas of your feet pressed onto the floor along with your toes. Now slowly lift your hands and place them on your hips. Inhale deeply. When exhaling, bend forward till your palms touch the floor aligned with your shoulders. Your head should be lowered towards the floor. Now try to touch your forehead to the floor. You can feel your neck,spine and back stretching. Repeat this cycle 5 times. This pose strengthens and tones your abdominal muscles. It is also good for your back and spine.
2. Plank Pose – Kumbhakasana
Lie on a yoga mat with your stomach resting on the floor and elbows on your sides, palms pressing downwards in a push up position. Now pull the back of your neck thereby drawing your abdominal muscles towards your spine. Lift your knees off the floor and shift your feet backwards. Your toes should touch the floor and heels should point towards the sky. Allow your head, spine, butt,the back of your thighs and heels to come in a straight line.
Breathe in, pulling your abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles inwards. Also press your thigh muscles upwards and lengthen your tail bone towards your heels. Hold this position while breathing slowly five times. After this, release your body by slowly bringing your knees back to the floor. Note that this pose must not be attempted if you suffer from osteoporosis and carpal tunnel syndrome.
3. Gate Pose – Parighasana
Kneel down on your knees with knees slightly apart. Now extend your right leg straight to towards the side, toes pointing towards the side and foot firmly on the floor. You body must face forward. Now inhale slowly and lift up your arms towards your side, palms facing downwards. Now place your right hand on your right ankle and turn your left hand upwards, palm facing the ceiling. Bend your left arm further towards right with your left bicep resting on your left ear. Look at the ceiling. Exhale slowly and come back to resting position. Repeat these steps with your left leg and right arm.
4. Triangle Pose – Trikonasana
Stand on a yoga mat with feet wide apart. Bend your right leg such that your toes face towards the right at degrees. Turn your left leg inwards at an angle of 15 degrees. Slowly raise your arms towards your side, palms facing the floor. Inhale slowly. While exhaling turn your upper body to the right. Keep your right leg in the same position. Now bend forward and touch your right hand on your right shin. Now raise your left arm upwards, palm facing forward. Inhale and exhale slowly in this position. Come back to rest position. Repeat the same sequence with your other side.
5. Boat Pose – Naukasana
Relax and sit on a yoga mat with your legs stretched out in front of you Slowly lean backwards, bending your knees and lifting your legs up from the floor. Lean some more, holding your thighs with your hands till your shins are parallel to the floor. Now leave your thighs and stretch your arms before you, palms facing downwards. Breathe in and out five times while in this pose. Now slowly, straighten your legs and bring your palms behind your head. Make sure your feet are at a higher level than your head. Breathe in and out five more times and then come back to rest.
